they are a reward from Him."

Artwork with a story behind it!

Caiden made this fine piece of artwork and this time it had an entire story within it! Let me interpret this for you the best I can {or the best it was explained to me!}...there are shelves, fire, and a fireman. Obviously the shelves are on fire and the fireman came to put them out! You might have to look really close, squint, hold your mouth open, or stare at it until it all blurs together to really see it...but trust me it is there!

Boy Genius in the works!

So as most of you know that when Caiden gets a hold of something he just can't stop thinking and talking about it! So he is really hooked on this entire concept of monster trucks. He constantly wants to look at pictures of them...so instead of investing in yet another book I have taught him how to look at google images by scrolling down the page and clicking next when he is done with those! It keeps him busy for awhile and I can get some dinner cooked in the mean time! He loves to play games on the sesame street website so he already knew how to maneuver the track pad. Now when we talk to daddy on skype he has to be the one who hangs up the computer...he is so funny!

He has also proclaimed his 1st official career plans...and yes you guessed it he wants to be a MONSTER TRUCK DRIVER when he gets older. We were driving in the car and he says "Mommy I want to be a monster truck driver when I get older. I will practice a lot. Will you come and watch me when I drive a monster truck?" How stinkin' cute is that!

Now this is what I call snack time!

So this was supposed to be a quick snack...as you can see it turned into a BIG mess. It was more like pudding painting by the end of it all. Even Caiden told his brother not to touch him because he was soooo messy! But I guess if you can't have fun with your food while you enjoy it then what is the point in eating!

Food Network here we come!

Ethan made a chef's hat at school the other day and we all decided to try it on for size! Who would have imagined that a paper sack with pictures would be so much FUN!

Dangerous Duo

So back a few days ago we had a shimmer of nice weather and the boys and I decided to take advantage of it! I remember when Ethan was too little to ride with brother on the tractor..but now he is big enough to hold on for his life! {if any of you have ever seen Caiden's driving you know exactly what I mean...I still have a scar on my leg where he ran me over with the tractor!} Caiden was glad that brother, as he calls him, is able to play so much with him, but he has that oldest sibling syndrome and he can't bring himself to let Ethan drive yet!

Ethan has finally figured out how to ride the 4 wheeler. We have been working on this since his birthday! Now as you can see he hasn't perfected it yet!

Thank You Uncle Jason!

So today Uncle Jason took Caiden to the Monster Jam Freestyle Mania at the Ford Center. He talked about it the entire day before and all this morning! He was sooo excited and even asked his daddy to go. Since daddy couldn't go this time daddy promised to take him next time! {it was sweet to witness the convo on skype!} He even took his camera and packed his backpack to take with him. It was so cute to see how much he looked forward to going!

He had so many stories to tell me when he got home..I mean there were a lot! And he told them with such enthusiasm! {not sure what happens to that as we get older?} He even showed me how the other kids were holding their hands over their ears because they didn't have "earrings" {hearing protection}....so cute! I love him sooo much!

PEACE!

So we have begun the journey of Financial Peace...and let me tell you WE are ready for some! David Ramsey really doesn't tell you anything that doesn't seem like common sense...but it is how he says it and the way he says it that really hits you like ton of bricks in the face!

I was anticipating feelings of shame, regret, sadness, anger...you get the picture! But instead I have hope, excitement, motivation, and happiness. Now I am just waiting for the peace..come on baby!

I have heard so many things about this program and have tossed a round the idea for years to do it...but this year is different!

God has really laid it on my heart to be a better person, mother, wife, friend, and family member. He is opening doors that I haven't seen before. I guess you could say He helped lay out my life changing goals for the year and man is He really pushing me to make some stuff happen! I know I have shared my life changing goals with some of you, but for those who I haven't here they are in no particular order:
  • grow spiritually
  • get financially sound
  • become healthier
  • be a better wife (really put time in our relationship inside and outside of the bedroom)

I know that as I conquer the first goal listed that everything else will fall into place, but I like to have the others on my list as well to keep me in check with who I want to become and where I want to go!

I hope that God is working in your life as well! If not ask Him to and He will not let you down!

Are you kidding me?????

So the Winter/Ice Storm of 2010 really took a hit on us out here in the country. We never lost power so God was really looking out for us! I didn't know how bad it was because we never went outside until Sunday. This storm took a total of 6 days to fully recover from.

This is our driveway and you can see how thick the ice is...

We literally had to use the pickaxe to get the ice off the garage door and break up the driveway.

The kids stayed out for about 10 minutes max and then they got smart and went back into the house!

Here are some other pics of the "disaster"...

This a pic of how thick the ice was on the garage door...
